Dear Friends,
Welcome to visit Philosophy School of Renmin University of China! Founded in 2005, School of Philosophy of Renmin University of China, whose predecessor was Department of Philosophy founded in 1956, is one of the largest centers for philosophy in the world and one of the strongest in China, with an international reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. At present, the faculty consists of 75 members, including 40 professors, covering a vast range of subjects within philosophy. In 19-21st, Dec., 2008, first "Wittgenstein and Contemporary Philosophy" Conference held in Beijing, sponsored by Institute of Foreign Philosophy, Renmin University of China. Nearly 30 scholars of Wittgenstein philosophy from various universities and research institutes attended the meeting and published their papers. The Second Conference will be held in 2010. |

In the recent nation-wide evaluation (2007-2009) about the first-rate disciplines by Chinese Ministry of Education, the School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China is rated second place among all Philosophy Departments of Chinese mainland, short of 1 score from the first one, Peiking University. |
